Prior to Max Grains, Jack worked for AWB Limited in Melbourne for five years, his most recent position being Regional Manager for Europe and Africa. He also managed the global durum export activities, as well as trading domestic wheat and ocean freight in the AWB Chartering division. Prior to AWB, Jack worked for GrainCorp in Sydney as head of the wheat desk. Jack is originally from Goondiwindi.

Bill grew up on a farming property at Croppa Creek in northern NSW. He worked with Jack at GrainCorp in the trading division for five years, his most recent position being Pools Manager. He then spent four years with Oleo Trading in Brisbane as the senior wheat and feed grain trader, until the opportunity arose to join Jack in establishing Max Grains. Bill currently trades feed grains and pulses.

Peter became a partner at Max Grains in 2005. He has over 25 years of rich and varied business knowledge with 16 years directly related to his current role, including marketing and trading in various markets, with a focus on growers and domestic consumers, as well as experience in the global trading of grains, pulses and oilseeds for several organizations. Peter possesses a diverse range of trading expertise and operational skills as well as a sound practical knowledge of the grain industry, and understands the needs of both growers and end users.

Jamie grew up on a sheep station near Longreach in Central Queensland. He started his career with Frank Sauer & Sons in 1993 and since then has gained a wealth of trading experience with IAMA, Riverina and most recently Oleo Trading. Jamie joined Max Grains as senior cottonseed trader in 2006.

Nathan McNamara

Nathan grew up on his family’s fifth generation mixed farming operation at Bell, Queensland. After graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Agribusiness, Nathan took a logistics role with Oleo Trading in 2004. In 2005 he then moved into the trading division at Oleo before coming to Max Grains to trade cottonseed and protein meals in 2006. As well as having valuable trading skills, Nathan has strong links to the rural industry and has developed a vast network of clientele.

Lyn Bird

Lyn was raised on the family wheat and sheep farm at Ganmain and later Stockinbingal in South West NSW. Her career in accounts eventually led her to a position in the grain industry joining Max McLoughlin Grain Merchants in Wagga Wagga in 1994. She joined GrainCorp Wagga Wagga in 1997, when they bought McLoughlins, and was there until she moved to Brisbane in 2003. She then had four years in accounts payable at Oleo Trading and Oleo Industries. Lyn joined the Max Grains team in March 2010 and is a great asset to the company with her wealth of experience in handling all matters grain!

Kate Mary Woodhead

Kate has been with Max Grains from the start helping to establish office procedures with Bill and Jack and looking after all the necessary back office associated with running a grain trading business. She has had 15 years experience in bookkeeping and office management. Kate was raised in a farming family at Croppa Creek in northern NSW.

Hugh Ball
Director
Hugh and his family run extensive farming operations at both Burren Junction and Moree and he is consequently able to provide Max Grains with feedback at a grower level. Hugh is a staunch advocate of having a strong relationship with a marketing group.
